I give lessons and workshops to individuals as well as groups, on a regular basis or as a one time event. Here is some of what I like to do:

Violin Lessons
It is truly wonderful to play an instrument. I teach beginner to advanced, playing by ear or reading music, depening on the interest of the student. I can help you improve your technique, work with style and performance, and help you avoid stiffness and pain.

Ceremonial Music
Live, acoustic music at weddings, funerals and parties is a wonderful way of making the moment memorable and alive. There is a long tradition in Sweden of playing for events like these and I can help you to choose traditions and music that are meaningful to you. For example, one Swedish wedding custom is for the newlyweds to dance to a tune composed in their honor.

Folk Music Workshops
These are fun workshops! Especially good at festivals but also to boost the energy in your band. Hands on experience of arranging, harmonizing and playing in a group. How do you practice in a band to sound "tight"? New tips and tricks to help you develop your arrangements, with particular attention to developing a coherent style.

Swedish Dance Workshops
There are loads of wonderful Swedish dances. Most of them are couple dances (polska, schottis), some of them are challenging (springlek, halling) while others invite the whole crowd (slängpolska, långdans). When I teach dancing I bring my fiddle, of course!

Swedish Traditions
Most Swedish traditions include music: hymns and Staffan songs for Lucia, springtime greeting songs around Valborg, drinking songs for the Kräftskiva, and of course marches and gifting music for Weddings and Funerals. At Midsommar, we also like to do the dances around the midsummer pole. It is a lot of fun singing and dancing together at big parties and celebrations. I perform and as an MC teach and lead communal singing and dancing in events like these.
